  • Scientist of the Year!

    A HUGE congratulations to our Year 6 ambassador Jasdeep who received recognition for his outstanding commitment to his learning in Science this week with the award of 'Primary Scientist of the Year'

     

     

    Jasdeep has shown excellent scientific skills and understanding.

    He even delivered experiments to Years 3 & 4 for our Curiosity Week this year!

  • Year 6 Transition Film

    Congratulations to our ambassadors Jennifer and Jasdeep who took part in a transition film with other schools in our Aspire group. Film stars in the making!

    You were both highly commended for your mature and positive attitude and thoughtful comments. Well done we are, as ever, incredibly proud of you.

  • Primary Parliament - Year 5

    Congratulations to our Year 5 children who were our role models at Primary Parliament. Our ambassador candidates were selected to go including Toni-Leigh, Jasper, Tia and Christian Lee. We are all really proud of your contributions. Well done.

    Key Stage 2 enjoyed an archery taster day. Hitting the targets was really difficult but everyone showed resilience and team working skills and made great progress during the sessions.

    CONGRATULATIONS TO ALL OF OUR JLT MEMBERS AND AMBASSADORS!

     

    We applied for a Speakers Council Award for our fund raising work including our school discos. We detailed our planning and the events and how we raised money for the Salvation Army in our community.

     

    We have received confirmation that we have been HIGHLY COMMENDED within our category!

     

    Here is the quote from The Speakers Council Awards:

  • KS1 THANKS YOU!!

    WOW what an amazing turn out for our KS1 working together event for money week. Mrs Winter and Mr O'Leary would like to say a huge thank you to all our enthusiastic, positive and willing parents who helped with sewing purses and wallets despite some  very blunt needles!

     

    The children really enjoyed this experience and learnt new sewing skills and working as a team with you. 

     

    Lots of parents have secret sewing and creative skills- if you want to help out in school with this please come and see us.

    The annual Mathletics Tournament begins for Class 5 and 6 on Monday.  How many points can you score in a week?  Can your class become the champions of the school?

  • The Queen's Birthday Celebration

    We have had a fantastic day of learning . I even got to pretend to be 'The Queen'  thanks to year 4, I thought your questions in the royal hot seat were great ! The rain didn't dampen our spirits and as Sade said " It doesn't matter , we are still having fun learning ." Thank you so much to all of our parents who came to the cream tea and helped create our kings and queens costumes today - well done to our book prize winners .

    Happy birthday Queen Elizabeth II from us all at HWP.

  • Parliament Outreach

    We have had a fantastic day with Dianne from Parliament Outreach who has helped us learn more about where Parliament is, What is is and how it works.

    We have had workshops from Yr 2-5 and a whole school assembly (see the pictures below).
