Key Stage 2 Performance Data 2017

At the end of Key Stage 2 children in Year 6 will complete a series of testing in Reading, Maths and Spelling, Punctuation and Grammar. Writing is based on teacher assessment.

 

Reading, Maths and SPAG tests are externally marked.

 

Reading-

38.5% achieved the expected standard

 achieved a high standard

Average Scaled Score 98.1

 

Writing-

69.2% achieved the expected standard

 were working at a greater depth

 

Mathematics-

50.2% achieved the expected standard

% achieved a high standard

Average Scaled Score 101.5

 

Grammar, punctuation and spelling-

53.8% achieved the expected standard

% achieved a high standard

Average Scaled Score 102.5

 

 

30.8% of children achieved the expected standard in Reading, Writing and Maths.

% achieved a high scores in all three areas.

Progress Measures

These progress measures are a type of value added measures. The progress measures compares pupils KS2 results to those of other pupils nationally with similar prior attainment.

 

Interpreting Progress Scores (Taken from Primary accountability DFE Sept 2016)

Progress scores are centred around 0. Most schools will range from -5 to +5.

 

A score of 0 means pupils on average do as well at KS2 as those with similar prior attainment .

 

A score positive score means pupils in this school on average do better at Ks2 as those with similar prior attainment.

 

A negative score means pupils do worse at KS2 as those with similar prior attainment. A negative score DOES NOT mean pupils didn't make progress rather they made less than other pupils nationally with similar starting points.

 

Floor Standards-

A school will be above floor if:

progress in all three areas is at least-5 in reading and maths and -7 in writing.
