Reading in Foundation 2
Spring 2 Class Reader
This half term we are reading What the Ladybird Heard and What the Ladybird Heard on Holiday. These books follow the adventures of a tiny lady bird. In the first book, the ladybird meets many farm animals. In the second book, the ladybird meets many zoo animals.
We will also be looking at the book Dogger by Shirley Hughes this half term.
Spring 1 Class Reader
This half term we are reading Room on the Broom by Julia Donaldson. We know the author from other books we have read, such as The Gruffalo and Stickman.
Room on the Broom is about a witch and different animals she meets. The story is about kindness and helping others.
Autumn 2 Class Reader
Our class reader for Autumn 2 is Mrs Armitage on Wheels by Quentin Blake.
The book is about a woman who adds lots of different items to her bike. She rides around with her dog Breakspear and encounters lots of different problems.
I wonder what she will add to her bike?
I wonder if it will make her bike better?
I wonder where she is going on her bike?
Autumn 1 Class Reader
Our class reader in September will be My Adventure Island by Timothy Knapman. The story is about a boy who goes on an adventure to an island where there are no rules.
I wonder if he'll come back from the island?
I wonder what adventures he will have?
