Each Term at Henry Whipple Primary School, we have a half termly History or Geography focus and make connections between the two subjects whenever it is relevant and purposeful.
In Geography, we aim to foster children’s love of learning and encourage them to understand the wider world we live in and the impact of the changes the planet undergoes. The children ‘Think like Geographers’ by looking at Geography through 6 different lenses. ( See Curriculum Documents) They enjoy a range of geographical based tasks such as using maps and identifying human and physical geography features and have the opportunity to participate in a range of fieldwork activities, often linked to our learning away programme.
