Welcome to Year 1!

We are Learning Lions!

Thank you for visiting our class page. We are Class 1 and called 'Learning Lions'.

Our class teacher is Mr O'Leary. Teaching Partner Mrs Duryea helps us learn lots every day in Class 1. Mrs Gunn supports groups in our class every afternoon too.

Here you can look at all of the exciting and challenging learning that we have been doing together in Class 1...

Sherwood Forest Forms

As you are aware all forms for Sherwood Forest have been distributed.

It is vitally important all forms are correctly filled in and returned as soon as possible to allow for information to be collated and passed on in preparation for our September learning away...

If you have any further questions or concerns please do not hesitate to catch me to discuss further.

Summer Newsletter - Class 1

Summer Term...

Welcome back to the Summer term.

Our topic focus is called: Treasure: (Exploring 'England's Golden Age') whereby we will be researching about The Elizabethan Period and its place in our history.

Learning to try at home:

Who was Elizabeth I?

Research about the fashion of the period.

Why is this time called 'England's Golden Age'?

Find out about the Spanish Armada - why is this event important for us to remember.

We will be Learning Away at Hardwick Hall on 3rd June to enhance our topic work too...

PE Days - Now on Wednesday and Thursday - children must have their kit in school all week as timetables can sometimes change.

Ten Minutes a Day Could Change Everything...

A young boy asks his dad to read to him. When he says no, what happens next spells out why everyone should take time to read together.
Please read at least 4 times a week at home to win a reading award...

Congratulations to Theo, De'elle and Quezia - our award winning gymnasts!
